A STUDY OF POLYMORPHISMS OF PAROTID SALIVARY PROTEINS IN THE FAMILY GROUPS

Abstract
Parotid saliva from 14 families composed of 63 people living in Kwangju was collected, defreezed, measured 40¥ìl exactly and 35ml of 0.088 M Tris-borate buffern and 80¥ìl of N, N, N', N'-tetramethylethylene(TEMED) were added ; then, the sample
went
DMB
afterwads.
@ES The author obtained following results :
@EN 1. The gene frequencies of Pr of parotid saliva from 14 families, composed of 63 members, from Kwanju were Pr1 0.722, Pr2 0.278.
2. The gene frequencies of Pa of parotid saliva from 14 families, composed of 63 members, from Kwanju were Pa+ 0.244, Pa- 0.756.
3. Where the phenotypes of the parents were Pr(1-1) and Pr(1-1), five children expressed pr(1-1) and only one expressed Pr(1-2) ; Where the phenotypes of the parents were Pr(1-1) and Pr(1-2), two children expressed Pr(1-1) and six expressed
Pr(1-2) ;
where the phenotypes of the parents were Pr(1-2) and Pr(1-2), only one child expressed Pr(1-1), four, Pr(1-2), and one expressed Pr(2-2) : where the phenotypes of the parents were Pr(1-2) and Pr(2-2), one Pr(1-2) was found in children ; and where
the
phenotypes of the parents were Pr(2-2) and Pr(1-2), one Pr(1-1) and one Pr(1-2) were found in children.
4. Where the phenotypes of parents were Pa(+) and Pa(-), four children expressed Pa(+) and two expressed Pa(-) ; where the phenotypes of the parents were Pa(-) and Pa(+), three children expressed Pa(+) and nine expressed Pa(-) ; where the
parents
expressed the phenotypes of Pa(-) and Pa(-), one child expressed Pa(+) and seven expressed Pa(-) ; where the phenotypes of the parents were Pa(+) and Pa(+), six children expressed Pa(+) and three expressed Pa(-).
5. Pa and pr do not seem to follow sex-linked inheritance.
The results obtained can be used as a basic reference related to genetic characteristics of Korean families and medicolegal concepts ; further study on the genetic characteristics of the family through etiologic researches is recommended.
